M60 junction 1  A6 Disley The Gritstone trail  starts at Disley station.  Well waymarked trail, passing briefly through Lyme Park and eventually  beside the Macxclesfield Canal - a distance of over 11 miles.

M60 junction 2 Bruntwood Park with full recreational and sporting facilities. Restaurant, refreshment kiosk, picnic areas,  ponds, waterways and wetland areas, walkways in mature  woodland.  Ample parking.(pay and display)  Dog  restrictions in some parts of the Park.

Chorlton Water Park, Maitland Avenue, Chorlton..  Network of well surfaced paths, picnic area, toilets and parking.

 
M60 junction 17 Philips Park Road Philips Park and  Prestwich Clough woodlands, grassland, ponds and streams to explore.  Park  Lane is the only vehicle access road to Philips Park, parking, toilets but no refreshments.  Shops nearby.  Prestwich Clough is in the same area, access  off A56 and Church Lane or from car parks in Philips Park.

follow signs to Daisy Nook Country Park.  Mostly good paths and tracks on towpath and old railway.  There is some road walking.  Parking and Visitor centre for refreshments. OSE 277 SD 920 005
M60 junction 27 A626 Compstall near Stockport Etherow Country Park. Woodland and riverside walks on self-guided trails.  Visitor centre, cafe, toilets and car  parking.

 

 

M60 junction 27  A626 Reddish Vale Country Park on the River Tame.  Many  walks of varying lengths, bridleways, and cycle tracks. Visitor centre and toilets.

 
M61 junction 1  A57  A575 Blackleach Country Park  near Walkden and within the Red Rose Forest. Visitor centre, car parking accessed off A575 Bolton Road, toilets.

 
M60   A666  Salford Clifton Country Park, Salford   Hidden in the Irwell  Valley just a few miles from Salford city centre.  Waymarked  trails.  Car parks accessed via Clifton House  Road. Visitor centre and toilets.
