A5  A47   M69 junction 1 Ashby Canal, Hinckley.  Various walks along the six  miles. Starts at Trinity Marina and ends at Marston Junction.  Car parking, public houses.

Burbage Common and Woods.  200 acres of semi-natural woodland and unspoilt grassland.  Picnic areas and public footpaths.   Car parking and toilets, refreshmentsand visitor centre.

M42 junction 11   A444 north of Hinckley

Market Bosworth Country Park, landscaped park, lake,
arboretum, and extensive grassed open space. Toilets and car parking charges.

 
accessible from the M1 M6 M42 and junction 1 on the M69 Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park. Parking is pay and display. The park provides an environment to interpret the famouse Battle of Bosworth, mainly on footpaths.  It links to the Ashby Cana (see above)l.   Toilets in the Heritage Centre, refreshments and picnic area

 
M42 junction 11   A444 north of Hinckly

Brocks Hill Country Park, Oadby.  67 acres with cafe, toilets and parking.  
A46 Leicester Western bypass & the Wanlip road near Syston; can also be reached via A46 Alderton Close in Thurmaston.

Watermead Country Park.  Entrance is free but parking charges apply.  Toilets at this car park. The park is 32 miles along the valley of the River Soar. Picnic site.  
M1 junction 21a on to A45 north west of Leicester at Anstey, Castle Hill Country Park, 250 of grassland, plantation and woodland.  The A46 divides the park into two linear sections. Network of paths, but limited parking, the site is new and still developing.

 
M1 junction 22   A511 A447 Ibstock Sence Valley Forest Park.   Parking, toilets, picnic site, surfaced trails and grass paths through woodland and by  lakes in a former opencast mining area.

M1 junction 22  A511 Coalville or   M42/A42 / A511 Snibston Country Park and the Grange nature reserve. In the heart of the National Forest there is mature woodland, rough grassland, wildlife ponds and marshland to enjoy with picnic sites.  Car parking, museum, cafeteria, toilets, gift shop and information points.

 
M1 junction 22  A50 then north east to B591 Woodhouse Eaves  Beacon Hill Country Park comprising heathland and woodland, wildflower meadow and Bronze Age Hill Fort.  Dogs on leads in areas where stock grazing please.  Toiletsno refreshments but picnic and barbecue area.

 
M1 junction 22 onto A50 Bradgate Country Park - the county's largest and most popular park, comprising grassland, heath, rocky outcrops, small woods, herds of deer and the River Lin.  Pay and display car parking, free entry to park, visitor centre, tea room, picnic site, disabled access
