Delamere Forest  Parking, toilets, visitor centre and cafe.  Forest, grassland and wetlands.

Marbury Country Park with lime avenues, arboretum / woodlands.  Well surfaced paths for all abilities. Picnic sites.  Car parking charges.


Tatton Park, National Trust  historic estate.  Parking cafe, restaurant, parkland, farm, shop dogs on leads at farm.  Waymarked walks.

Croxteth Hall and Country Park, peaceful countryside with miles of paths throughout the park.  Home Farm,  historic hall, gardens,  shop, car parking.  Charges apply.

Tegg’s Nose Country Park  waymarked trail around the park, wild hill country, meadows and woodland. Picnic site and car parking charge.

Birkenhead Park, woodland, meadows and lakes shaped  to appear as sinuous rivers.  Parking, cafe, toilets.
Wirral Country Park based on a former railway branch  line.  Picnic sites.  Car parking at Willaston. Visitor Centre at Thurstaston as well as toilets and snack bar.

Eastham Country Park, Mersey Estuary. Visitor centre, surfaced paths through the woodlands, and open grassland.  Parking, toilets, picnic areas. There are two public houses on the waterfront.
